"My passion is—and has always been—art. I have been involved in some form of art most of my life and have tried different techniques through the years. I am mostly self-taught through reading and studying art books and then trying different things to see what I would be most interested in."
"My natural talent is painting, especially in oils, and my subjects are mostly people. I have recently included animals-horses, longhorns, and buffalos-in my paintings and was surprised at how natural that came to me too. These forms flow from my brush without effort as if the brush already knows what the picture is going to be."
"Stone and wood carvings are another form of my art. I really enjoy working with these elements. The final shape of the carvings evolves from the shape of the existing stone or wood, and it is often surprising what emerges."
"Until last year, I have always put my passion on a back burner while being employed at different businesses that ensured a regular paycheck. Of course those jobs involved art in some capacity. Now that I have retired, I have time to enjoy and pursue my life passion of art."
